About Psych Education

Our Mission

At Psych Education, we’re dedicated to bridging the gap between mental health research and practice.

Our goal is to provide high-quality, accessible education for both clinicians and patients in the mental health space.

Who We Are

Psych Education is now part of the Psych Campus family, a leading provider of mental health education resources.

Psych Education was originally founded by Dr. James Phelps, a respected psychiatrist with decades of experience.

Our Leadership

  • Dr. Flavio Guzman – Current Director
As the editor of the Psychopharmacology Institute , Dr. Guzman now leads Psych Education, bringing over a decade of experience in developing educational resources for mental health professionals.
  • Dr. James Phelps – Founder
A retired psychiatrist and educator based in Eugene, Oregon, Dr. Phelps established Psych Education with a vision to make mental health knowledge more accessible. Dr. Phelps no longer contributes to the website, but some of his original teachings are available for reference.

Our Approach

We believe in:

  1. Practicality: Our content is designed to be immediately applicable in clinical settings.

Our Journey

Dr. Phelps and Dr. Guzman have collaborated for over a decade, creating valuable resources for psychiatrists. When Dr. Phelps announced his retirement, it was a natural progression for Dr. Guzman to continue building on the strong foundation of Psych Education.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we remain committed to our core mission of providing practical, useful, and unbiased mental health education. We’re excited to continue growing, innovating, and serving our community of learners and practitioners.
